Health Reset Hard: Init

README
Here goes everything, some might say.
Shortly before turning 40, I recieved a text (the SMS kind) from my doctors asking to have a NHS Health Check. It took over a year to actually get it booked, but it was booked nonetheless.
A blood test later I went back to discuss the results. The main purpose of the health check is to check your health (of course!) with the aim to improve it and, hopefully, reduce the after affects and put less demand on the NHS in your later life. The health check is offered to those who are not in regular concact with the their doctor, to which I learned I had not seen my GP for over 13 years, and that was about hayfever.
The results were not great. Whilst my hearth health is, I might proudly say, in very good shape, the same could not be said for my blood pressure, BMI, or cholesterol. Whilst the blood pressure was witin ‘normal’ range, I think it was on the high side. Cholesterol was ‘high’ (6.2 with over 5 being of concern) and my BMI was 29 with 30 being classed as obese. The doctor kindly punched in the numbers and gave me a ‘best guess’ of my future at the current rate. It was not good.
If you hand’t guessed by the rest of this site, I’m a developer most of the day so there’s a lot of sitting about. Add to that the sweet tooth, nightly snacks, and probably eating enough for 1.5 people.
So, there’s a lot to change. Diet, lifestyle, fitness, and probably some other things.
I’ll try to document and track my changes on here. Emphasis on ‘try’.
So, here we go. Day 0.
